Position Summary: The University of Utah College of Nursing seeks applicants for Tenure Track faculty positions. We seek innovative early career investigators with extramurally-funded programs of research to enhance and expand our high priority research programs in the areas of health equity, social determinants of health and/or chronic/serious illness(es) to complement our strengths in women’s health, gerontology, caregiving, informatics, and clinical and translational research. The College of Nursing is committed to removing barriers that have been traditionally encountered by individuals from historically marginalized groups.

 

College of Nursing: Consistently ranked in the top 25 in NIH funding among Colleges of Nursing, The University of Utah College of Nursing is a focal point for clinicians and researchers to collaboratively improve individual, family, community health, and quality of life. The University of Utah College of Nursing prepares nurses at all education levels with a current enrollment of more than 700 students. The College has ten endowed Chairs, and is home to the Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program and a NINR T32 Interdisciplinary Training program. The Emma Eccles Jones Nursing Research Center provides infrastructure and support for the College of Nursing research mission, and includes a biostatistics core.

Principal Functions and Responsibilities: Faculty in the tenure-line engage in independent and team- based research in their area of concentration. Opportunities for teaching in the doctoral, post- doctoral or other programs are matched to the candidate’s expertise.

 

Criteria: Candidates must be registered nurses, advanced practice registered nurses, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned a research doctorate in nursing or a related field. Candidates should have evidence of external funding (e.g., K, R03, R21, ADA, AHA), record of scholarship, and demonstrated experience teaching/mentoring. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
